You definitely want to down-play your maw since your eyes will have all the attention. Try using a nude, wishy-washy pink, or a caramel color lipstick. Even a nice clear lip gloss will look good as capably.

Nude lips are usually best coz u play up the eyes more and the focus is on them so everything else shud be simple, but there is no harm within wearing red to give an all over dramatic look.
Since the smokey eye is so dramatic, go near a nude lip. Definitely not red or pink.

You don't want the lips to compete with the eyes, but complement them.

I agree with most of the answers above: something light (nude, standard lamp pink/peach). If for some reason you do want to go for a while darker, I'd do a sheer stain intead of gloss.
I newly wanted to add that exact smokey eye tone and the lip color tone will depend on your skin, mane and eye colors -- so you'll choose either warm or cool tones depending on what you are.
