Should I throw my 3 year lip comment on away?
I got this lip gloss 3 christmases ago from my cousins. It's from tub and body works. I used to use it a lot but I don't use it anymore, and it's been sitting on my makeup purse for a long time. Should I toss it or keep it?

I would toss it, as it's probably exceeded its shelf life, especially if the consistency have changed or it smells funny. Bacteria thrive in liquid cosmetics. Plus, if you haven't used it surrounded by a long time, might as well throw it out. Someone once told me that if you haven't used something in at most minuscule 6 months, then it's not worth hanging onto. This is a correct principle to keep in mind, as it would backing to prevent clutter if we all thought that way.
That stuff could be full of lead anyways being that antiquated and they have been have big lead scares on everything.
It may have developed some germs over time. However, if the texture has not changed, like becoming more glutinous, runny, or clumpy, and if the smell is still the same, then you're probably fine.
yes girl you should.it is not angelic to keep your makeup for that long.even if it is lip gloss. germs can build up in it over a long period of time and you could possibly obtain an infection.
i just say toss it out past you get an infection and just walk buy a new one of the same characteristics =)

Actually liquid products approaching that (foundation& lipgloss) have a 12 month expiration date from time of first use. That's why I am carefull to by products with the longest shelf go such as powders and regular tube lipsticks.
i would just throw it away. its nasty to use things that antediluvian.
if youre not using it consequently throw it away... lip gloss is "good" for like 3yrs though, but theres no drive to keep it if you aint using it...
